Section 01

Cyber Essentials Within 6 Working Hours: What the Guarantee Means

The Basic guarantee: Fig Group issues Cyber Essentials within six working hours of receiving a complete, compliant submission before midday UK time on a UK business day. Purchase, preparation, clarification, remediation and customer response time do not form part of that clock. Three rounds of assessor feedback are included; this is not unlimited certification attempts. A human assessor makes the certification decision. Read the service terms.

The useful distinction is between being ready to submit and waiting for assessment. Buying before midday does not guarantee that an organisation with missing controls will receive a certificate that day. Prepare the scope and evidence first, then submit the compliant questionnaire before the cutoff.

Section 02

What starts the guarantee?

Receipt of a complete compliant submission starts the qualifying Basic assessment commitment. If an answer needs clarification or a control needs remediation, address the actual issue before changing the answer. Do not plan around a pause-and-resume or reset-clock promise. Allow time for customer responses and any IT implementation work.

Section 03

How the workflow helps

Structured answers, readiness guidance and clear assessor feedback can reduce administrative work. Fig Group describes its service as AI-assisted, with human assessment authority. This article does not establish a measured pickup time, zero queue, instantaneous feedback, immediate database listing or a technical necessity for AI. An IASME licence is evidence of the certification relationship, not proof of every claimed platform runtime characteristic.

An illustrative prepared applicant could order early, complete the questionnaire and submit before midday. Assessment can then finish within the qualifying working-hour commitment. That is a planning example, not a measured customer timeline; multiple corrective rounds need not fit into the same morning.

Section 04

Deadlines, lapsed certificates and insurance

Check the actual tender or customer requirement and when certification must be held. PPN 014 applies to specified in-scope procurement, not every government contract. A lapsed certificate creates a certification gap; the contractual consequences depend on the agreement. Certification cannot be backdated to remove it.

For insurance, use the insurer or broker’s actual information request and renewal deadline. Neither speed nor certification guarantees acceptance, cover or a premium reduction.

There is no separate express surcharge for the qualifying Basic guarantee. Choose by total organisation headcount and confirm the scope. New website offers do not amend existing subscriptions, accepted orders or signed renewal terms.

Section 06

Basic and Plus are different commitments

Cyber Essentials Plus requires valid matching Cyber Essentials and independent technical verification. Fig Group’s prepared-assessment target is 2–3 working days, subject to scheduling, device access and remediation. One formal retest within 30 days is included under the Plus terms, separately from Basic feedback. A successful technical assessment is required before issuance.

Section 07

Before you order

1. Confirm the certification requirement, organisation size and actual scope.

2. Use the readiness checker as preparation guidance.

3. Implement missing controls and gather accurate evidence.

4. Order early enough to receive portal access and submit before midday UK time on a UK business day.

5. Respond to any assessor feedback; do not change an answer without fixing the underlying control.
